Q: What if someone in my party is not fishing? A: No problem! We have so many activities to choose from to help keep that person or persons entertained and enjoy their own personalized experience while you are off fishing. This could be anyone from your significant other, children, nephew, or parents-in-law. Plus all at a heavily discounted rate!
Booking and Reservations
Q: How do I book a fly-fishing expedition? A: You can book your expedition through our website by filling out the booking form or by contacting us directly via phone or email. We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred dates.
Q: What is the best time of year to go fly-fishing in Patagonia? A: The prime fly-fishing season in Patagonia runs from November to April, with peak months being December to March. This period offers the best weather and fishing conditions.
Q: What is included in the expedition package? A: Our packages typically include guided fishing tours, accommodation, meals, transportation within the region, and necessary fishing gear. Specific inclusions can vary, so please check the details of your chosen package.
Preparation and Gear
Q: Where do I fly into? A: You will first fly into Buenos Aires Argentina and then transfer to a smaller plane to either pueblo of Bariloche or San Martin. We will advise this based on the custom trip we help you with. There are many red-eye flights all over many main cities throughout the USA.
Q: Do I need to bring my own fishing gear? A: While we provide all necessary fishing gear, you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Please inform us in advance so we can ensure you have everything you need.
Q: What should I pack for the expedition? A: We recommend bringing layered clothing, a waterproof jacket, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and any personal items you may need. A detailed packing list will be provided upon booking.
Q: Do I need a fishing license? A: Yes, a fishing license is required for fly-fishing in Patagonia. We can arrange this for you as part of your expedition package.
On the Expedition
Q: What is a host? A: A host is a person in charge of all the logistics of your trip. This includes picking them up from the airport, taking them to where they need to go, keep them up to date on the trip, answering questions, helping them get settled in and just being a companion for their trip while they are not fishing.
Q: How experienced do I need to be to join a fly-fishing expedition? A: Our expeditions cater to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced anglers. Our guides are experienced in teaching and will provide instruction and support as needed.
Q: What is a typical day like on the expedition? A: A typical day includes a hearty breakfast, a morning fishing session, lunch by the river, an afternoon fishing session, and a return to the lodge for a relaxing evening and dinner. Specific itineraries can vary.
Q: What if the weather is bad? A: Patagonia’s weather can be unpredictable. Our guides are skilled at adapting to changing conditions to ensure a successful and enjoyable fishing experience, regardless of the weather.
Safety and Health
Q: What safety measures are in place? A: Safety is our top priority. Our guides are trained in first aid, and we carry safety equipment on all expeditions. We also have protocols in place for emergency situations.
Q: Are there any health considerations I should be aware of? A: Please inform us of any medical conditions or dietary restrictions when booking. We recommend being in good physical health to fully enjoy the activities. Consult your doctor if you have any concerns.
Payment and Cancellation
Q: What payment methods do you accept? A: We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and PayPal. A deposit is required to secure your booking, with the balance due before the expedition start date.
Q: What is your cancellation policy? A: Cancellations made 60 days before the expedition will receive a full refund. Cancellations made 30-59 days prior will receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than 30 days before the trip. We recommend purchasing travel insurance.
